International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) Delhi was established in 2008. It was set up to bring international standards and benchmarks to health management education in India. The Institute undertakes education, training and research in hospital and health management and has emerged as a key player in the health sector over the past decade. The Institute offers a two year Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Hospital Management (PGDHM) which is AICTE regulated, NBA accredited and recognized as equivalent to MBA by AIU and NAAC A Grade.

Title of the Post: Project Research Scientist–I (Non-Medical)

Duration: 1 year (extendable based on performance)

Essential Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Statistics / Biostatistics / Public Health / Applied Statistics / Data Science or closely related disciplines, with demonstrated experience in statistical analysis of population, environmental, or health-related datasets.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in survey design, sampling strategies, and index construction (e.g., vulnerability, risk, or health indices)
  • Prior exposure to climate change, environmental health, maternal and child health, or public health research
  • Ability to manage and analyze large datasets, including household surveys, health facility data, or secondary climate/environmental datasets
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as R / STATA / SPSS / Python
  • Experience in mixed-methods research, including collaboration with qualitative research teams
  • Experience in research writing, including reports, manuscripts, and policy briefs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the quantitative and statistical components of ongoing research projects related to climate change, environmental health, and maternal and child health outcomes
  • Contribute to the design and validation of survey instruments, sampling frameworks, and data collection protocols
  • Support the development of indices and analytical frameworks related to climate vulnerability, environmental risk, or health outcomes
  • Integrate primary survey data with secondary datasets (e.g., climate data, census, health system data)
  • Perform descriptive, inferential, and multivariate statistical analyses to identify determinants of health outcomes and vulnerability patterns
  • Work closely with qualitative researchers to support mixed-methods triangulation and interpretation of findings
  • Ensure data quality, documentation, reproducibility, and ethical data management
  • Prepare statistical analysis reports, tables, figures, and visualizations
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, and dissemination materials
  • Support the Principal Investigator in project coordination, presentations, and stakeholder engagement activities
